Flight Training in Papua New Guinea
Currently, MAF is working on the curriculum, CASA certificates and logistics to start a “One Training Center – Two Campuses” flight school with its main campus at Mareeba, QLD – Australia, but with flight training elements also in Papua New Guinea.
Within two years the MAF Training Center (TC) aims to produce professional and competent pilots with …
- relevant licences, ratings and approximately 240 hours flying experience
- a focus on remote area operations as modelled by MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship)
- exposure to both the Australian and Papua New Guinean flying environment
Across both campuses the TC shares …
- a common curriculum
- competency based training philosophy
- instructor expertise
In the future, MAF will offer up to four PNG candidates the opportunity to start training, twice each year.
As soon as the Training Centre is approved by the Aviation Authorities we will start advertising and also provide the application requirements and forms.
